The retreat offers opportunities for young adults aged 16 and above to apply for live in stays based on individual need. It is a place where people can learn fundamental life skills. It can also be a place to break old habits and make positive change.

All people staying are involved in daily retreat life including the maintenance and running of the retreat. Everybody mucks in and this is a big part of what the retreat offers. There is also plenty of time for relaxation and leisure activities.

People on individual stays are expected to be undertaking a level of self-analysis, goal setting and achievement work. Goals are initially developed as part of the application process and are regularly reviewed and discussed.

The retreat offers a caring and supportive environment as opposed to specialist care. If you have been diagnosed with a mental illness or are suicidal then the retreat is unlikely to be the best place for you. You personally must wish to attend and all stays are conditional on participation and commitment.

The retreat offers support in the following areas:

Practical Skills: Reading, writing and maths; vehicle maintenance; carpentry; community service/ helping others; nutrition & health; organic gardening; job applications; financial management; computing & more…
Personal Development: Communication skills; stress management; goal setting & achievement; problem solving & decision making; assertiveness & more…
Discussion Topics: Sexuality, addiction; parenting; suicide; grief & loss; love; family dynamics; values & spirituality & more…
